Language Workshop
Our focus this week was on economics.  We read about and identified goods and services in our school and community.  We talked about needs, wants and scarcity.  This week we also learned about the prefixes -un and -re.  We learned to use these prefixes to figure out the meaning of a word.
Math Workshop
Today we took our first assessment for Module 3 over measurement.  We have been learning to compare and order items by length.  We have also been practicing using centimeter cubes and rulers to measure.
Writing Workshop
It was the last week for our narrative writing unit.  At this point, students should have published 2 pieces of narrative writing.  Each piece should include a bold beginning, linking words (first, next, last) and an excellent ending.
Next Week
Next week we will learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  We will focus on the difference between fiction and non-fiction and review and test over prefixes.  In math we will continue learning about measurement.
