News and Information
  • NO SCHOOL Monday the 11th and Tuesday the 12th.
  • Greg Tang Math Parent Night Monday 11th from 6:30-7:45
  • Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of great students) Pizza Night Sept 21 @ 6pm In FEMA
  • Volunteer Training September 29th from 9-9:30am in FEMA
  • READING CHALLENGE-  Continue to encourage your child to read for the reading challenge.
Language Workshop
We started our Author Study over Eric Carle this week. We read “Walter the Baker” and learned that the characters in a story are who or what the story is about. We also worked on what goes at the end of a sentence.
Math Workshop
This week we continued our first module on Sums and Differences to 10. We focused on solving story problems. The students practice reading the story, drawing a picture to match and writing the number sentence to find the missing part.
Writing Workshop
This week we continued to build our writing stamina and add illustrations to our writings.
Word Study
This week we learned how to sort words into categories by listening for beginning and ending sounds.
Next Week
In language, we will continue our author study on Eric Carle. We will continue working on our first module for math, Sums and Differences to 10. In reading, we will learn about the setting in a story. We will also learn about punctuation and practice using it correctly.

News and Information
ATTENTION ALL GRANDPARENTS/GRANDFRIENDS
Due to the large number of attendees, we are making adjustments to the schedule
PreK and Kindergarten Grandparents: 9-10am
1st-4th Grade Grandparents:  10-11am
Parking: Field West of Bus Lane (Parking attendants will be present)
  • READING CHALLENGE-  The 1st quarter reading challenge page came home last week.  Remember, your child needs to read and collect 15 signatures this quarter to complete the challenge.  Happy Reading!
*If you have not sent in an extra composition notebook, please do so ASAP!  Thanks!
Language Workshop
We continued our Friendship unit by reading “Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend”.
We learned to make a list and label items.  We also focused on capitalizing first and last names.
Math Workshop
This week we started our first module on Sums and Differences to 10. We focused on parts of 7, 8, 9 and 10.  We made number bonds and wrote addition sentences to match them.
Writing Workshop
This week we continued to build our writing stamina and add illustrations to our writings.
