Language Workshop
This week we started a unit on animals. We learned about birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and mammals. We also learned about their different habitats and what their needs are.
|
Math Workshop
We finished topic 8 -- “Comparing and Ordering Numbers to 100” this week. The students have really had to use their “math brains” this week.
|
Writing Workshop
This week we continued informative writing. We went through the writing process to create an informative piece this week with our American Symbols. We will write our own informative piece on animals when we get back.
|
Word Study
This week we practiced 3rd quarter words. We assessed over reading and spelling the words. We will not have new words next week. Instead we will focus on phonograms and practice decoding tricky words.
|
Next Week
After Spring Break we will begin our author study on Kevin Henkes. In Math, we will do some quick lessons on time, measurement, money, fractions, and shapes to get ready for NWEA testing the following week.
